The Award For Diversity & Inclusion

 

Description

 

This award recognizes an organization that has diversity and inclusion at the heart of its business, and that provides employee programs for women,minority groups, persons with disabilities and LGBT individuals.

 

Criteria:

  • Each applicant must have an interesting initiative for diversity groups implemented within their organization
  • A clear narrative that demonstrates why the D&I strategy was implemented and how it is linked to broader business strategy
  • Evidence of the organization's success with regards to D&I

 

The IBA Magazine Readers' Choice Award for Best Digital Service Provider

 

Description

 

This award acknowledges the contributions of a company with a proven track record of providing superior technology, user experience, service and assistance to insurance professionals and companies.

 

Criteria:

  • Open to any company or individual that provides a digital service or solution to insurance professionals
  • Judges will consider value added to clients, overall client experience, depth of content, innovation, repeat and referral business strategy, and last but definitely not the least, demonstration of a sustained effort and commitment to the Insurance industry.

 

Insurance Industry Employer Of Choice

 

Description

 

This award recognizes an employer’s commitment to building a workplace that recognizes excellence and supports career growth for all. This award recognizes the company that has won the reputation to be called an employer of choice within the insurance industry.

 

Criteria:

  • Provides an environment for professional development, with challenging and meaningful opportunities, and flexible work options to help people develop their full potential
  • Finalists will be asked to provide an overview of their people philosophy, workplace culture, employee testimonials and other relevant reasons explaining they should win this award

 

Network / Alliance of the Year – Membership of More than 100 agencies

 

Criteria:

  • Open to networks and alliances with a membership of 100 agencies or greater
  • Commitment to its agency members, clients and support to the insurance industry as a whole
  • Demonstrated evidence of value proposition to the member offices
  • Excellence in majority of the following member services: training and education, marketing, commission and profit share, access to more carriers and products, claims support, customer service support, access to niche and non-traditional markets, administrative support, recruitment of talent

 

Network / Alliance Of the Year – Membership of 100 agencies or fewer

 

Criteria:

  • Open to networks / alliances with a membership of 100 agencies or fewer

Risk Team Of The Year

 

This award recognizes excellence and stand-out performance within risk management and will be presented to the team that has excelled at protecting the assets of their company or the company they consult for, by identifying exposures that may result in accidents or losses.

 

Criteria:

  • Open to any risk team within the insurance space
  • Demonstrated success in protecting the assets of their company; actively recommends and implements innovations to minimize costs and losses
  • Offers strategic thinking to the risk management community as a whole

 

The Aon Benfield Award for Philanthropy & Community Service

 

This award celebrates the outstanding contribution of time, leadership and financial support of a company who set new benchmarks of excellence in the acts of giving and volunteering.

Criteria:

  • Examination of a project in 2016 that is exemplary of philanthropy
  • The organization has developed a creative, resourceful and inspired campaign, initiative or project that has grown and made a meaningful impact on local, national and/or international communities or causes
  • Project should demonstrate a commitment to philanthropy through financial support and the encouragement of others to take roles toward philanthropy
  • The initiative could be an international, national or local project and should demonstrate a coherent and integrated approach

 

The KemperLesnik Award for Corporate Social Responsibility

 

Criteria:

  • Displays a clear statement of how any initiative is aligned with the company or organizations’ strategic and business goals towards the betterment of community, social or environmental issues
  • Examples could include using resources and energy as efficiently as possible, promoting social inclusion, sustainable communities and/or well-being
  • Shows evidence of the delivery of policies in action

 

The Smart Choice Award For Wholesale Partner of the Year

 

Description

 

Award of excellence for the wholesale partner who offers superb service to brokers, and is consistently proactive in educating brokers on products, while maintaining in-depth knowledge of financial markets and the competitive landscape of all product offerings.

 

Criteria:

  • Maintains superior support service to brokers through underwriting, claims support, premium pricing, carriers and products offers, and marketing support to assist brokers in growing their businesses and client base

 

Best Wholesale Specialized Practice

 

Description

Award of excellence for the wholesale partner, specializing in a particular practice, who offers superb service to brokers, and is consistently proactive in educating brokers on products, while maintaining in-depth knowledge of its area through demonstrated product innovation in response to market expertise.

 

Criteria:

  • Maintains superior support service to brokers through its expertise in its specialty practice, including underwriting, claims support, premium pricing, carriers and products offered, and marketing support to assist brokers in growing their businesses and client base

  • Demonstrates growth through business development, client retention, growth of clients and minimized loss, while staying abreast of market changes and challenges that impact the insured

 

Retail Agency of the Year - $75M In Revenue Or Less

 

Description

Award of excellence for a retail agency who derives more than 50% of its revenue from commercial and who offers superb service to clients, while maintaining in-depth knowledge of all product offerings.

 

Criteria:

  • Demonstrates growth through business development, client retention, growth of clients and minimized loss, while staying abreast of market changes and challenges that impact the insured

 

 

 

Individual Awards

 The Award For Lifetime Achievement

 

Description

Award of excellence that recognizes an individual within the insurance industry for their achievements and outstanding contribution to the industry as a whole.

 

We accept nominations in this category, with the editorial team at Insurance Business Magazine making final selections based on editorial research and industry feedback.

 

The Tangram Insurance Services Award for Woman of Distinction

 

Description

 

Award for women in the insurance industry whose astounding personal and professional achievements have earned them a place among the industry’s best.

 

Criteria:

  • Judges will review achievements including:
    • Professional accomplishments in the last five years (business initiatives in which the nominee played a critical role, new business brought to the company, innovative ideas, etc.)
    • Leadership of professional associations
    • Other accomplishments (charitable work, accomplishments outside the industry, etc.)

 

The Midwestern Insurance Alliance Award for Top Producer of the Year

Young Gun Of The Year

 

Description

 

Award of excellence for the outstanding achievement by a young broker in the insurance industry. This accolade goes to the new industry player who has exceled at pushing the envelope with innovation and growth, garnering industry’s attention and the respect of peers.

 

Criteria:

  • Open to any young insurance broker who is 35 or younger as of September 1, 2017 
  • Judges will review achievements including:
    • Sales volume in 2016 (for producers)
    • Professional accomplishments (business initiatives in which the nominee played a critical role, new business brought to the company, innovative ideas, etc.
    • Distinctive new business development strategies, including unique ways of utilizing technology
    • Exceptional relationship management
  • If applicable, finalists will be asked to provide supporting evidence of the above

 

Top Producer Of The Year

 

Criteria:

  • Judges will review achievements including:
    • Industry awards and recognition
    • Community involvement
    • Book of Business (net commissions) in 2016
    • # of clients in 2016

 

The Burns & Wilcox Award For Agency CEO Of The Year

 

Criteria:

 

  • Demonstrated vision and leadership over several years, where the nominee’s insight, discernment and ability to lead and inspire has guided his or her organization to a new level of growth, achievement or recognition.
  • Corporate performance –positive financial results reflective of leadership
  • Social responsibility – use of leadership and skills to help the community overcome social issues
  • Innovative business achievements and use of technology
